lol. I hope they’ve done their research, or I’d love to see the faces during his first session.
Does anyone remember when Pogo’s last DG rec was released incidentally? Held for months, and when they finally issued it they did so with a paper wrapping around the CD so people wouldn’t be able to preview it in record stores.
That is the case!
This is why Pogo can charge 130€ at Gaveau.
Yes and the posh studio photographs on his website. Did you get a ticket?
Strike of Sony Technicians Continues
Report from Gramophone
The ongoing strike of Sony technicians is caused by the recent extreme overwork.
“In recent months, we have been editing and recording until far after midnight, four times a week”, an anonymous technician said. “This pianist is a disaster.”
A spokesman of Sony didn’t want to give details about the circumstances or the name of the pianist. “He is a legend and we fully support him.”
Any guess? Who might be this pianist? I cannot think of a major pianist who is now under contract with Sony…
Recent MONTHS? How many takes does this mofo need?
I look forward to Ivo’s 2 CD set of Liszt’s Piano Sonata.

The first recording for his new label, due out this autumn, will be Rachmaninov’s Second Piano Sonata coupled with two by Beethoven, No 22 in F major Op 54 and No 24 in F-sharp Op 78.
I think this will be 2-CD…
