Not sure what’s more tiresome: his way of talking or his compoz
Tiz time for him to do some serious (Russian?) soulsearching and find a style/language that genuinely belongs to him. Technically wel written perhaps, but epigonism doesn’t produce great music.

I appreciate the effort though. It’s good to see more pianists composing again, and it’s unreasonable to expect it to be Chopin. If it becomes more normal again however, in due time…
Personally I find Hamelin’s writing false, decadent and ugly, but he’s got a voice and he’s not a bad composer. Again I’d rather see him do it than avoid it.
