What I liked about it was that it was so clearly a “live performance” (despite that it wasn’t). I think this is exactly how he played it in recital at the time too. I sort of agree - lots of character, I really liked the lassan, but on the whole I’ve heard better. I wish we had something like this with him from his 30s.

True, though he studied with da I’ve always enjoyed his 
recordingz most. The Preludes, Mazurkas and Nocturnes he played exquisitely.
