It’s actually a bit sad to see him like this. In 1935 he already suffered a stroke, one of his children had committed suicide and his wife had just died…he would die only three years later himself.
It’s very sad but the legacy he left behind changed the music world forever.
If you examine his piano writing you realize he was truly both an evolutionary genius and a revolutionary master. He took tonal pianism to it’s limit of complexity and refinement within the confines of 10 fingers and 88 keys.
