I think they work best when skipping some partz, like da Hof did. Second mvmt theme comes back way too much, but other parts are really very inspired.

Pozz, but depending on how you treat it.
It can provide ample opportunities to work on tone, legato, non-legato, all within an unforgiving polyphonic texture.

Ahem, da :chop: often ONLY played Bach when he had to prepare and give a cuncert featuring hiz own muzic.
So many great peniszt made it a habit to practise Bach every fucking day, or at least played his music extensively for a long period in their lives. And not because they HAD to, but simply because itā€™s great musicā€¦
And yes, agreed with da TM, I really think practising it DOES help you on many levelzā€¦
