16th Clit Comp iz Live

I really like the way the Cliburn is structured and how the audience is encouraged to clap between pieces…I imagine it puts the performers at ease.

Yeah, more Gavrilov, less Perahia is what’s needed.

Not outstanding, but very, very good.

Unfortunate screen still

Just listened to the 18 yr old from South Korea. He has potential.

Didn’t listen to Anna Geniushene. She’s the wife of Lukas Genuisas…I believe.

dude i know wtf… i didnt listen to many of them, but i heard 10 mins of her and thought it was gorgeous, i always like her playing

Yeah, she’s a real musician.

surprised Denis Linnik didnt pass - his l’escalier du diable was fucking GOOD

now im watchin some clips from the others i thought would make it- Osokins does the low bench thing Bozhanov did, I checked and they both studied with Schenk in Dusseldorf. i want to email him and ask for a lesson and have him explain the bench thing, it looks rediculous but obviously really works

How could a low seated position not screw with octave passages? Maybe these dudes just have short legs and long torsos.

i saw a studio recital of his students on youtube and they all sit like that! its a cult or something

Look where his elbows are. If I sat that low, my elbows would be hanging down below the keys and I’m 1m80 with average, maybe slightly longer arms than average for my height. The man has T-Rex arms.

thats true, but all his students cant be shaped wierd and they all do this it seems, so i wonder
