Arrau, because he was so famous, had a lot of influence (including the pianists he taught) and his recorded legacy is enormous and usually of a very high quality.

Arrau had a mustache, played Alkan and learned trannys complete by 12, had equal measure tonal genius, moist, and doc style rep absorption. Finger blasts my soul even in rep I don’t like, playing in styles I don’t like.

Argerich Has a weaker mustache, does not play Alkan, and only played a handful of difficult pieces over the years she’s meticulously prepared. Does not fingerblast my soul. But impressed me more.
