Iz this another sample of awful advice you were talking about in your other thread? :whale:

have you learned this etude? Its pretty simple, those are 2 of the most important points easily. I have gotten advice from Katherine Brown Paul Schenly Cleveland, Evelyn Brenkart, Karen Shaw Indiana, my teacher Lawrence Campbell, and almost all of them mentioned those points.

Call that stupid if you will, i have a feeling they know much more than you do.

PS :whale:

STFU

Hah I can understand. For a while there, when I just started listening to recordings (years ago) I just wanted to learn whatever recordings I heard. When I baught the Ohlsson and Ashkenazy etudes, I had to learn them all (probably part of the reason I’ve learned about half by now).

This was difficult for me at that age. I was kind of pissed that I couldn’t. Also, Ashkenazy recordings always made me want to learn more music and I was pissed that he could learn so much (including many shitty recs). I actually think that’s basically the reason I still listen to his recs at all; we go back. Hell, Gilels has passed him up on my favorites by now easily.
