Chopin Etudes: fav rec?

Recommend?

Also, an opposite of a resurrect: Op. 10 > Op. 25

Elisso is so far on the top of my chart

Elisso? …any product links?

came across the berezovsky complete chopets once but didnt have the funds >_>

consider yourself lucky for not having a sunk cost.

berezovsky’s chopin etude is probably the worst buy of piano CD i had made

very boring and weird performance

if u want something technically stunning and also enjoyable, go with John Browning

here is the link for Elisso
live-classics.com/wirssa_cat.htm

her live chopin in moscow was posted here before, mistaken as the live Bolet Chopin etudes.

grab fou ts’ong’s complete set

doubt anyone on SDC has it :unamused: :unamused:

i do

it’s not that rare

not rare maybe 20 years ago

not rare in most part of china that sells CDs (pirated ones)

yeah, pirated ones only

We’re all very impressed.

Either way, my favourites are Orozco, Early Pollini, Cortot, Novaes and a few others.

Elisso live is just ok imo.

Early Pollini is overrated.

Orozco is amazing, technically and musically. Ashkenazy Melodiya. And of course Cortot.

Overrated? I’m the only one who ever says anything good about it, so how is that overrated? Why don’t you just tell me my taste sucks?

Asshole

So much hate 8)

Anyway, the ones I heard from Novaes are some of the best, and I love listening to Cortot’s and Cziffra’s, just cuz he rules.

:gav: zolid

:ziff: cauztik

Good point.

I like early Pollini very much too.

Also Orozco and early Ashkenazy and many others of course.

Sokolov impresses with his opus. 25

Everyone seems to have the early pollini except me, someone mind posting it?

My favs: Cortot, Backhaus.
