Although it may not count, the fastest version I have heard is an audience recording with Raymond Lewenthal, who passes the finish line in 9:12. In my humble opinion this piece does not gain in stature the
faster it is being played however, and although a wondrous pianist & musician in general I wouldn’t recommend Lewenthal in this case, or anyone up at his pace.
