It really depends how you define technique. In any case, who gives a crap? I know Iād much rather listen to Ho than Doc. Despite Doc ripping into Sofronitsky for sloppiness, Iād take his Scrib recs any day of the week over Docās recs as well.

Iāll have to dig around for it tomorrow, but I distinctly remember him stating that Sofronitskyās recordings of the sonatas were amateurish and sloppy.

To be fair, weāre missing a bunch of recordings of Horowitz in the 20ās and 30ās which was arguably when his mechanism was at itās prime.

Tru dere iz very little in it but if u lizten to zome ov da mindboggling clarity n dexterity ov zum 90z dere iz juz no penizt dat match it - zpecifically in denze muzik
Even hiz latezt Feinberg zhowz hiz overall command iz in incredible zhape and he iz great at certain areaz ov repertoire - zpecifically da areaz dat require leazt creative individual input

Da doc tech = accurately get notes out in smooth inoffensive way
Da Ho Tech = transcend instrument, seek out and develop new expressive technical devices, exceed dynamic range of all peniz while still maintaining control and staggeringly beautiful tonality
Also audience response maybe say it - da Ho never know failure but doc boring audiences to tears for a decade or more even being only guy playing his black diamond rep before recs spread the good word if his unique penism
