I like them well enough, but they are hardly extraordinary. He does some strange trills here and there, and his sound is slightly cold.
Sergey Schepkin does a much better job, in my opinion. I’ll post that set soon.
whats with the random shit he adds? like an entirely new part to the 4th movemtn, and also the second? wtf
Dunno, but improvisation was very common in the baroque era. esp in these kind of free pieces.
Try to listen to a version played by someone like Ton koopman(a baroques specialist) and see what he does. I have personally not heard much by him, but sometimes also he adds trills and embelishments.
He’s not particularly musically original, but he works hard on ornamentation, which mkes it interesting for someone who knows the pieces already. Personally, I prefer Weissenberg.
