Have you read the stroy behind the etude “Colonata Infinata”? It dates back to year 1996 when Ligeti was struggling with severe health problems and was obliged to go a colonoscopy. So, a pipe wif a camera was stuck into his rectum and da ppl tried to find out if he had any diseases in his rectum. However, it was quite painful and it never seemed to end. The time was soooo long that it felt infinite. Da Ligeti thought: “Dayyuumm, do I have an infinite colon??!!!”. So, dis was where he got da idea. I’ll write an etude that sounds like an infinite colon, ie. shit.
