da PLET got arrezted!!!

The handful of Russian colleagues who I gossiped about this said he’s an absolute sob and this behaviour has been going on for decades.

Oh, the conductor is Levine, it’s hardly been a secret in the music biz - it was mentioned in Time magazine in a profile.

wow, i wouldnt even DARE to call him one of the most important musicians of the latter half of the 20th century (not even just considering classical pianists), but yes, i agree with the last part of your statement. also, it just goes to prove that a lot of musicians just have a lot of mental problems in some way or another.

Ok, he’s not the most influential or greatest composer but he’s one of the great pianists, interpreters, conductors of recent years.

Pletnev has offered his services to Apple in advertising their new product targeted at children, the iTouchKids.

Seriously though, Norman Lebrecht was making insinuations about an unnamed conductor (clearly Levine) at least a decade ago; must dig out the book in question as I don’t think Levine was the only person he was casting aspersions at.

Sadly (if guilty) he’s not the first musician with this peccadillo and won’t be the last. Zverev (as in teacher of Rach : boys) and d’Albert (girls) spring to mind.

HAHAHA, seriously? What’s he gonna do? hold the iTouch and smile at the camera?
There are photos of him with the so-called victim found and they said the victim had been raped two times by Plate. A search also revealed that there were child pornography videos in Plate’s residence (CMIIW), yet Pletnev denies the charge. He said he’d jump off the 26th floor of a building if he believes about this.

Will this be the end of his career (if it’s true)? I wonder…

apparently Cherkassky also loved to go to Thailand to get young boys.

lol

This may all be true, but Norman Lebrecht is basically the arts version of a tabloid journalist, so take everything he says with a grain of salt (unless it’s corroborated elsewhere).

For the sake of clarity, the bit about Zverev and d’Albert emanates from my teacher, who made a BBC documentary on d’Albert many years ago (and was incidentally chased round the piano by Cherkassky (see above) on his first, and only, lesson from him.)

Well if he kept it oral and played some private concerts I would let him diddle me…

:dong:

if he played this program:

Bach-Busoni Chaconne
Beethoven Op. 111

Chopin 4 Scherzi
Etude Op. 25/6
Ballade No. 1

Encores:
Chopin-Liszt: Maiden’s Wish
Moszkovsky Etude in F major
Scarlatti Sonata In A major K 24
Rachmaninoff Etude Op. 39-5

i think you would be the one doing the oral-work

…Based on his Islamy maybe a hand job wouldn’t be so bad.

Thailand revokes Russian conductor Pletnev’s visa

BANGKOK — Thailand has cancelled the visa of Russian conductor Mikhail Pletnev, meaning he faces deportation even if child rape charges against him are dropped, an immigration official said on Wednesday.

“The Thai immigration bureau has blacklisted him on the grounds that his behaviour is detrimental to Thailand,” said Major General Pansak Kasamsan, deputy commissioner at the bureau.

“His Thai visa was automatically revoked after his name was blacklisted,” he said. “He would eventually be deported whether it goes to trial or the charges are dropped.”

Pletnev, artistic director of the Russian National Orchestra, was charged in early July with the rape of a 14-year-old boy in Pattaya, where he has a house.

He denies the charge, which carries a sentence of up to 20 years in jail, and was released on bail.

The award-winning maestro was allowed by a Thai court to travel overseas but is required to report back every 12 days. He returned to Thailand over the weekend after attending a music festival in Macedonia.

Pletvev told Russian media Wednesday that he had been given permission by the court to leave the country again. It was unclear whether the cancellation of his visa would affect his travel plans.

“My mother’s birthday is in a few days and I cannot and don’t want to miss it. The lawyer has just told me that permission had been obtained,” Pletnev told RIA Novosti.

I guess he’s off the hook…?
