I played for a PhD on the Brahms violin Zons based on Neil’s comments and suggestions in da new Barenreiter. It was really interesting and cleared up a lot of markings.

Wow, sensational discovery. Brahms improvised, used rubato and played the bass sometimes earlier than the melody note. :yawning_face:
