55 is far too young. It feels like a bad surprise because he returned to singing and the stage in the past year, but really a diagnosis like that is too bad. I heard him in the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London in 2004. He sang Tchaikovsky, Mussorgsky’s Songs & Dances and opera arias. He was really adored around the world.
