thx man

thanks so much man

it is downloading now…looking forward

somehow the other link works for me here on my girlfriend’s cpu

just a wee little wtf?

it didn’t work for me the first time neither. i guess mediaFIRE was out of GAS

roma’s le festin is the best i’ve heard, imo.

i’ve always been disappointed in recordings of this piece.

hamelin’s is just a bit too straight for me. it’s incredible in some ways, but never seemed to actually embrace the m*sical ideas of the piece (though he fully grasps the overall, asskicking idea).

lewenthal attempts the m*sical ideas, but didn’t have the technique to pull off the piece, so it often sounds forced and labored.

ringiessen is pure sheeyat (no technique, no music).

ROMA gets it all, and in some varaiations actually outdoes hamelin technically. plus, he actually plays with things where hamelin merely played the notes.

Daim diz was a verry good Fezt, one minor complaint about the way in wich he places 2nd beat in the 2nd, 4th, 6th and 8th bar of the theme.

whoa. who is this guy. almost gives hamelin a run for his money… almost. certainly certain parts are just as good!

from what i’m hearing, the only variation where hamelin outdoes roma is variation 15

hamelin is a bit smoother here, but judging from roma’s chords in other variations, and especially in the coda, i don’t think it’s a lack of facility

also, i agree with meph on the non-staccatos in the theme…sounds a bit ghey

he is the one who won the 3rd liszt competition. (i think it’s 3rd, might have to check)

ah i checked - it’s the 4th. thanks for the info.

He stayed at the same family that had Enrico Pace. They interviewer asked them what was the diffirence between the two, and they answered that Pace was alot more gentile with his piano. Roma kept breaking strings and while he played on he yelled “don’t worry, i’ll pay for them!”

fucking legend.

Thanks for this. Impressive. But wtf does he do at 0.35? Not as funny as Ponti’s misreading of the same variation, though.

ahahaha da PONT rpt note unleazh inztantly improv da var
