mah school haz a commisoioned compsoer thing every spring, n dis year its stephen paulus (anyone heard of him?)

anyway hiz commision is some religious work for da choir, but to fill uo da program, other groups are doing his sheeyat, too

im da only soloist, n im playin some of hiz preludes (I, II, V)

so da concert iz tomorrow night, but im goin in in a couple hours to play it for him

1 iz kind some serial sheeyat, 2 is some moizt sheeyat, n 5 iz da speedy, furious sheeyat

any last minutes suggestions?

datz rite, i have now coined a new term at mah school, here we shall call it da ‘stone tech’

it wuz da 20th century sheeyat, so even tohugh i had most of it memorized dey made me bring mah music up anyways, so i didnt work real hard on memorizin da rest

so i get through da first 2 fine

da 3rd one wuz pretty long (10 pages) and wuz hard to turn pages, so i taped to groups of five pages together, so i could take one group (split down the middle) off when i got to da fermata at da end of da fifth page

so i am playin n i get to dat point n i flip da pages off so dat i am on da last page n i start playing for a few second lookin at mah hands n i get to da point where i didnt have it merorized completely n look up n…

da page wuz upside down (small print made it hard to see when i set it up)

so i had to play wid one hand while i flipped it wid da other. didnt miss a fuckin beat surprisingly. good thing to cause da audinece wuz laughin thorugh to da next part and drown out where i had spome serious loss of accuracy

anyway i get to do it again for mah class on thursday 8)
