SDC story - Berman

i heard this from koji earlier today but already forgot how the fuck it went, but here’s the gist of it:

so this dude that has had a lot of famous pianists come over at his house to prax (berman, argerich, freire, …) told him this story of when Shure and Berman were at his house. Shure was raving about a concert he heard of Berman the other day, and was of course talking about how great the fourth movement of the Chop 2nd sonata was. Randomly, Berman was practicing that sonata in that house, playing the 4th movement, but it didn’t sound as good as it did on the concert, but good nevertheless…

So they went to check it out, and randomly, Berman was indeed playing the 4th movement of the Chop 2nd sonata…

Cross-handed 8)

Berman skipped 2 barz in da chop 2nd PS. if i iz not miztaken, it’z bar 46-47. diz iz told by da berman himzelf in italy while conducting da maztahklazz.

:dong:

For an idea of how incredible Berman is, compare his Feinberg Tchaikovsky rec to Volodos’ (a great player in his own right)
