some original piano fury

http://www.myspace.com/eusebiusband

here are some shits that are around a year old (da eusebius is da pen name i have for my “classical” shits)

  • the menage is just a short little piece built around the prominence of the number 3 (hence the title), even though it isn’t THAT prominent. technically i think it’s unplayable though (the end)

  • Pour Frederic is basically the minute waltz with the RH rewritten. it has a different flavor and possibly more fury, but thats debatable

my tech is incredibly lacking considering that i started at 17 (19 now) and my goal as a musician is as a composer and not a pianist. that said, there’s no way i could record these myself, so unfortunately the mp3 is sampled (better than straight MIDI though, right?)

if someone with some tech/fury (trumofo…?) wants to try da pour frederic (or the otha one, but like i said, i think its impossible as is) then id be happy to post the sheets.

PS: in da pour frederic, the 2nd half of the lyrical middle part is screwed up in the mp3 (it plays the grace notes on top of the notes they modify, instead of playing them separately). the grace notes are supposed to be done more like the original

Pour Frederic -
hahahahah diz, i dun really understand da point

Menage -
Diz iz much mo intereztin, i randomly really lyk da openin. Howevah i wizh dere waz a clearer harmonic progrezzion, somethin mo dan juzt zum random chromatic, it wud give it zum much needed direction.
Alzo, u have zum themez in tehre y dun u expand on dem? U dun really do any development othah dan playin it an octave higah.
Good uze of motif on diz one.

da point of da pour was 2 entertain mah bored ass one november day. it was just for kicks, really, no real compositional purpose otha than 2 entertain ppl who know the original (kinda like the volodos turkish march)

the menage wasnt supposed to be a super developed piece, more just like a little thought. initially some of the chromatics weren’t “random,” as they are the same notes as the theme to the preceding piece in the original suite that this was a part of. also, initially i had planned the suite to be all pieces of no more than a minute, so it really was intended as just a quick thing.

ic

u iz one of em mofoz whu feel da need to defen againzt conztructive criticizm

gud luk wit diz attitude

:dong:

ha…im not saying youre wrong or trying to defend. im just explaining where i intended for there to be unity/development and where i didnt. i intended unity on the number 3 (which i didn’t do a great job of doing) and i intended thematic unity between the adjacent pieces in the suite (which, since it’s a standalone now, is not there anymore). i just wanted to let you know why i chose the notes i did in some spots, since at the time of composition they werent random, even though they are now. and i just wanted you to know that i didnt intend harmonic development, it just wasn’t a goal of mine for this piece, kinda like a minimalist doesnt have the goal of not being repetitive. if it doesnt work w/o a development, then okay, thats definitely something ill consider next time i compose a short piece in this vein; i just wanted to let you know what my mindset was when i was writing the piece.

hahaha ok ic, tiz juz zounded a bit defenzive :lib:

keep doin wut u doin, n update diz thread if wen yo compo zum new sheeyat, i vill lizten to it
