totally rad

How does he produce a sound only touching the fretboard? Got the volume cranked?

although this is impressive and i could never do this, i have seen better. a couple of years back i saw this black dude on tele holding one guitar and another one on a stand. he was playing so fast, it was tru SDC material. this doesnt even get close. i cant remember his name and i have been searching for him ever since.

nah da guitar is just modified (says the comments in another double-guitar video). so u just have to touch the string to create a sound.

:doc: “hahhaa if i did diz much drugz…”

It’s interesting for the first few seconds, until you realize that it’s basically the same one riff, without much variation, moved around slightly on the fretboard.
Has anyone transcribed any of his stretches to analyze their content? There’s really not much there musically and certainly no diversity or melodic development of any kind.

How a guitar magazine could rate this over a master of not only speed, but complexity, diversity, taste and musicality like Paco De Lucia when it comes to shredding is beyond me. The goal is to play many notes, right? But it’s still about creating music first.:

pozz da ZKEP?

rofl @ paco de lucia

I guess I understand. The mastery over the music, the music itself doesn’t matter. For that matter, I suppose it’s only a matter of time before a guitarist or banjo player develops the fastest 3 minute trill in the world and shred fans will hail him a musical genius like the clown whose video started the thread, all others paling before his virtuosity.

Shredding + content = virtuosity
Shredding - content = 0
