the opening ‘violin tuning’ sound more furious than anything after that comes after. the actual waltz sounds like the fairy godmother’s waltz, why the fuck does he need to chicken out at EVERYTHING. not doing what the sheetmusic says doesn’t make it any bit more interesting. more like the opposite.
the lyrical section has some potential, but it’s nothing original. everything after that is like the beginning, he has no dancing rhythm or a snappy rhythmical feel. the agogics feel completely forced and very unnatural, like he has a hard time keeping up with trying to follow what is actually written in tempi etc… and overall, i had expected something way more technical impressive from this kid. most of this is overpedaled and sounds too “round”. if you follow the story this can sound a LOT more raw than this. the piano also sounds terrible though. so possibly it was hard to play on it.
and i might post my mephisto in the next couple of weeks, though i am not at all saying that i can play any better than him.

N tru, WTF, I played da main theme ppp? AHAHAa, daim, Actually, diz iz quite a bit CG. All I had to do was played 2 chords FF, and den go back to ppp, and da effect would have been damn good. Tru, diz we can learn from Hofmann’z playing - he played damn light, and den makes huge contrazts wiz hiz amazing FFF chords (especially da left hand)
