Notr sheetmusicarchive…
maybe Alfred’s? My teacher swears by Alfred and says its the best editions for anything…heh…for chopin i like Schirmer’s…but thats becausde of the essay that comes in the book, lol …Alfred is rly good, it gets to the authentic score and explains confusing things in the performance…
Henle, the blue books.
what about ABRSM?
i never like henle edition for Bach.
I’m not familiar with ABRSM.
I have the following Bach editions by Henle:
Art of Fugue
English Suites
French Overture/Italian Concerto/Goldberg Variations
The Art of Fugue is on two staves and they indicate where the voices cross nicely. There is also a disgusting completion of the unfinished fugue by davitt moroney.
Also, seeing as they are made by Germans…you can count on exhaustive and somewhat comical notes that discuss EVERY SINGLE detail about the edition, ornamentations blah blah blah
In short: Urtext, fairly expensive, bound nicely on good paper, and competently fingered/edited.
abrsm haz da bezt WTC, ive randomly had it fo agez
wut about french/eng suites
I use Dover for Bach… and everything else. Can’t beat the price
fo sum SDC matters. Get da BUZZ edition with his Random extra-octaves for da voices
i vil voice mah support fo tha Kalmuz edition, done by tha MIKULI

edit: or thoze CHINK-HENLE editionz
urtexts and a bit of knowledge are the bezt !
