I heard him early 960 01’ or 02’. It was colorful, unfussy and lyrical. Now he’s a bit weighed down with seriousness. Also that concert made right by playing that gimpel paraphrase afterward

Diz sadist used to play da entire first movement as an encore.

That’s a good description if my memory is anything to go by.
I rarely listen to this sonata, but next time I feel in the mood I will let Dr. Marc do the honours.
