I have the whole concerto. That was broadcast here locally from Mexico City . Unfortunately, even TV UNAM (the “TVU” in the corner) has the balls to tell me to take videos down now from YouTube. I’m in fucking Mexico, and I’m still not safe from the DMCA (because the ARTISTS are complaining…right…)
Anyhoo…when I get it transcoded of TiVo, I’ll share it locally here. It’s actually her first-ever performance of Brahms#2. There’s a cool interview I have also where she talks about why she waited until later to learn it, the process, etc.
She’s quite a big girl with huge hands and shoulders as broad as mine. She scares me and kinda turns me on all at the same time…
“Scherzo”–what a cruel joke of a movement title–and this is absolutely my favorite movement of the concerto. Genius indeed.
About her dress attire, I agree. She has one or two DVDs out with ridiculous titles like “Black and Pink” or something like that (sounds like a bad, bad porn title–that’s probably not it, then) where she’s wearing what amounts to a prom dress.
Unlike , I am no connoisseur of fashion, but there’s a point where the music is being visually compromised, and she passed it long ago with those vids. I don’t agree with everything she does (she can sometimes be a bit of a bull in a china shop, musically speaking), but she has more than a few moments of brilliance, that’s for sure. Calling the people on “Fashion Emergency” (or whatever that show is) wouldn’t hurt.
