Since it’s Beethoven year, I would like to read some really great books about Beethoven. Which one you would recommend?

The classic is Thayer’s 3 volume tome, but it was written by a Harvard mofo from 200 years ago so it’s sure to be both adjusted and unreadable.
I’d love to interview someone who has read Solomon’s or Swafford’s bios.
