Too bad the only problem with Cecil’s and Borah Bergman’s lightning fast downpours of notes is that they haven’t a clue what they’re playing. Just randomness. That’s why any one excerpt from one tune is virtually indistinguishable from another excerpt from a different tune.
If you enjoy CONTROLLED downpours, there’s plenty of recordings by Martial Solal, Oscar Peterson, and Art Tatum to keep you busy for quite a long time.
