I think that “famous” story of Rachmaninoff practicing the Op 25/6 at a snail’s pace (literally 1 third per 20 seconds) is a fabrication.

The dude had a family to feed and second-rate music to write. He certainly would not waste time on the 25/6, as he never programmed it.
