I wonder what the hour of bonus footage contains? I personally can’t wait. This pianist does more for me than any other living pianist, so this should be fantastic. Let’s hope the Legato series continues!

yeah, i hear that. i would have definitely liked to see obscure rep more. but still, should be interesting anyways.
yeah. his other concert in this series was him playing rudepoema, ives concord sonata and something else i think. That would have been better. I still want a proper dvd of him playing the alkan concerto live. They had cameras when I saw him play it in cheltenham, at least 1 pointing at the piano. perhaps that’s for hamelin’s personal use… or just for cctv for piano protection on the two model ds!
Chopzon #3 is not a fave by far, and if I wanted “definitive” Chopin, I wouldn’t go to da DOC for it.
Don’t get me wrong, I’ll listen to DOC all day–I just wish there would be at least some “edgy” selections on here. Maybe it’ll be on that bonus hour.
