Definitely prime Ho.
The stuff after 1936 always sounded subpar to me, for the most part.
Yeah… I think by then he rebuilt his sound for big halls and effect rather than piano craft and elan. Re listened to the 4th scherzo the other day. His performance is more interesting than the piece.
