ive never heard da richter mephisto, wilde jagd, or wanderer fantasy…cud u plz upload it?
its so hard to pick a single “most” exciting perf, but lately for me its actuall been Harmonies du Soir - Richter at Sofia. This performance just simply blows my mind.
Ahaha, damn. The Carnegie hall one is just better.
can u post these 3 pieces, plz?
I forgot to mention Richter’s great Live Prokofiev 6 in New York. That’s one of my favorite Richter recordings.
Never heard it.
My recording seams to be 1 second slower than yours(8.11 and 8.12).
Both starts at 0.00(but I don`t know if they start at 0.00 exactly or something like 0.005).
There is of course a possibility that one the recs(even tough they may be the same) starts a bit later than the other wich in the end makes it finish at 8.12 instead of 8.11).
Is the one you posted also from a cd ?

Same recording, recorded on 6 year anniversary of D-Day by the Bear.
legendary

Especially the '68 Carnegie where he breaks a string, and the '76 in Berkley where he unleashes the last movement (“finale from sonata by Rachmaaanneeenoofff!!”).
koji
The one wich he brakes a string in shows how much charm he had. And much more…

Haha the 3rd mov encore is just INSANE. I love that recording.
I totally forgot.
Most exciting performance on rec… Tchaik Concerto 1, Horowitz/Szell, 1952.
CRAZY
No wonder he quit after that, heh.
koji
I always thought he fell off the piano bench at the end and got injured
LOL; he sounds like he’s having a nervous breakdown during that entire performance–poor bastard.

Izn’t it 1953?
I’ve heard so much about dis performance, can someone upload it for me?
