I’ve been going through some music I enjoyed back in 2012 - 2014 before leaving Amsterdam. I find this music captures an almost inexpressible mixed feeling of sadness & happiness together, and it makes you want to move about. Do you know any other music that’s like these 2?
actually you could put just about every Smiths song in here. They’re all so beautiful and encapsulate this kind of happy/sad feeling. I will always love that band.
This is actually one of those songs written in major, but which I perceive as sad. Shows that the sad/minor & happy/major identities aren’t necessarily true, which a local friend here has been pushing since I first met him.
yeah man I think it was Ishiguro who was arguing that some of the saddest music in the world is in major. Songs like that can really take your breath away (in a painful way). I feel it in my chest with some of Morrissey’s songs.
