continuinged.ku.edu/programs … agenda.php

Sjostakovitsj or whatever weird enough

My school’s library has Prokofiev as Prokoffiew, man how long I had to look before I found anything from him.

these arent cyrillic spellings, these are just various transliterations of russian or soviet names.

Рахманинов is the cyrillic spelling of rachmaninoff, for example.
Скря́бин is the cyrillic spelling of scriabin.
Шостакович is for shostakovich. and the list goes on.

I know, that’s what I meant.

psh whatever i like this topic more now that it’s somewhat hijacked 8)

Ciaijkowskij
Gawrilow

i personally do like the dutch transliterations of various russian names. they look really freaky to me. i rather like the look of skrijabin, or whatever it is.

Dutch is a pretty freaky language in general, heh.
