Favourite Liszt Sonata recs?

Whoa! Never thought those guys ever played this masterpiece in public!

I liked it alot too, but for me there’s a difference between liking something alot, and including it in my top 10…

that amazes me Chris , what do you do except for listenin to music so intensly ? i mean , how many hours do you sleep (that if you sleep at all) besides , do you pee from time to time between recs ? probably if u took it easy a bit with listenin you’d be a concerto pianist yourself and have your own recording label dont u … :chop:

Yeah, how do you listen to so many recordings?

I still haven’t listened to the Argerich Liszt Sonata (and don’t plan to etiher)

I got a Pletnev rec, a Grammy award winner that doesn’t have the 1st octave or the final note - anyone else have dis?

i iz u/lin tha DEZSO RANKI pimpzon/dante/meph cd tru

Hahaha, pwned :whale:

thanks for da lists, and thanks for da Chris’ u/ls.

:rectum: Carnegie Hall (BBC legends)

I will have to get this HOG '55 rec. But Concert Artist is sooo expensive.

The BBC Legends rec is the Aldeburgh 1966 recording.

Pers. pref da Aldeburgh to da Carniggie

yeah, sorry mine’s the Aldeburgh rec.

Got a decent mark on my comparison report on the Liszt son, thanks :rectum:

Tru… as long as you didn’t mention Brendel, it’s all good

am i allowed to ul da brendel pimp son rec?

No. I will actually ban you for that.

Horowitz (1932)
Barere (1947)

i thought Argerich’s rec was a true show of great pianism and stuff, but i just cant find any musical depth in it. i still think Zimerman is my favourite interpreter of this work. i actually feel reborn after listening to this. other than zim, my favourites are Richter and Barere.
