is a bitch. i never really have fingering problems in pieces, my teacher taught me all sorts of tricks and i have big hands. but holy shit is this movement a mess. i can’t believe yuja wang with her tiny hands rapes it the way she does

i stopped working on this piece once i got to the 2nd movement, shameful
it seems that the ability to “throw” your wrist is paramount, i.e. to not worry so much about legato fingering and change the hand position as needed by the keyboard topography. in this sense, it’s fundamentally different from the chopin funeral march finale.
