The angry fermata is a waste of 4 staves. Multiple staves are meant to make the music comprehensible, not clumsy. Hmm, maybe someone should let Ferneyhough know…
Me neither unfortunately. I couldnt even be bothered to sit down and have a go at it unless I had heard it before and knew it was absolutely awsome!!! AIMARD…!!!
I thought I was the only one having problems with Sibelius. Yeah, that’s what composers have to go thru. Who the heck will take a look at the score if it hasn’t been performed by some awesome ppl already? Noone!! 
I love Sibelius, quite simply. It is just so intuitive, but yeah, it sucks for notating more contemporary ideas. But still, what can be done? Maybe Sibelius 6 will have some answers.
Then you have to compose for the awesome ppl! 
Seeing what they did with Sib 5, I doubt they’ll bother improving the features needed for contemporary notation. Too marginal. They’ll probably just continue improving playback features to appeal to a wider audience. Someone should tell the mofos that sequencers are already invented for that purpose.
Dumb thing about Sib 4 is it removed the nice (S space space etc) sequence for making slurs over multiple notes and used the space key for the idiotic playback function instead. I can’t ever make nice multiple-curved slurs in Sibelius, anyone know how to help?

Use multi-arc slurs, I don’t remember which drop down menu to get them from though, something like create, or insert. But, yeah, pen and paper, woo!
yeah, pen and paper is the bomb, but sometime I can’t “hear” it in my head too well (I’m a noob, I know). Anyways, noteflight is starting to show its weaknesses. I needed an extra voice (on top of the two) and couldn’t do it. Had to input it as ugly looking chords instead of the simplicity of multiple voices. And it gets really slow when the score gets over a few pages.
I know how to get those Create Extra Slur Arc rubbish things, they’re just insanely unintuitive to control and pretty much impossible to even move.
Yeah, I admit, they take a fair bit of working, but everything has its weaknesses. If only we all hand handwriting like Finnissy’s and there would be (nearly) no need for typesetting programs at all.
Oh yes, I also bought the score for the History of Photography in sound, it’s unbelievable.
