Oh, what could have been if Fricsay hadn’t died so young. Surely he would have wiped Karajan off the map. Just listen to Fricsay’s Beethoven 9 and tell me that Karajan accomplished anything NEARLY as impressive in his whole career. … I didn’t think so.
