I’ve heard the name from several Russian pianophiles lately, and youtube just autoplayed me this:

I’m sampling her a little further now. She’s Russian alright, aesthetically almost a throwback to the Soviet era.

Yeah there is something there isn’t it. Deep sound, singing tone, romantic approach, and even a sound world which is entirely her own. I’m also encouraged to hear “a real Russian” again.

It’s hard to say much more from these instagrammy clips however. From what I took with me from her channel this morning I think it’s clear she’s not a finished pianist yet - but I also think it’s clear it’s not just a young girl emoting away in her particular way at the piano. I’d love to hear a full recital or concerto recording with her.

Just looking at fruitful competitions, the 1938 Ysaye/QEC had this group:

Emil Gilels
AB Michelangeli
Moura Lympany
Yakov Flier
Monique Bruchollerie
Nikita Magaloff

Was that though? Her sound is there, but pretty pale musically and with numerous little tech slips.

haha fuck da customary X euphoria mildly wearing off

Hehe, I’m not saying I can do better, but I thought that was pretty rough - and unlike what I watched this morning pretty uninteresting too.

Yeah it’s hard. I’ve messed around with it too. Especially since it’s one of those pieces you want to sound so effortless.
