I pretty much dislike everything Metheny has recorded. Not sure how I feel about Metheny / Mehldau.

welcome to my world, i fucking hate Metheny

I saw him at the National Guitar Workshop, Connecticut, and all he did was play patterns.

That being said, this album is a classic - it’s entirely fresh, a new direction which I respect.

It won jazz album of the year.

Give it a listen, you either love it or you don’t. Track 4 alone is worth the d/l.
