It wasn’t listed on the main Rudolfinum website but there’s actually a small piano festival about to start in Prague this Sunday – Rana, Hamelin, Jan Bartos and Kissin. Kissin is sold out and I don’t want to hear Hamelin play D.960, but I might go to Rana on Sunday. Tickets are cheap and I really like her. She’ll play:
Fryderyk Chopin: Études Op. 25
Isaac Albéniz: Iberia, Book 3
Igor Stravinsky: Three Movements from Petrushka
For Ivo I sat row 5 centre, but if I go I’ll sit at the back this time, probably balcony. It’s a beautiful hall, surprisingly small.
Yeah I should, and there’s less chance I’ll miss the bus home this time as it’ll start 30 minutes earlier. Man missing the bus last time fucked my health, I wandered around Prague all night and am still recovering 8 weeks later.
In the meantime I saw my Volodos buddy yesterday and he was in the middle of a cold. He still says he’ll go tomorrow, but he won’t be able to sit in a concert hall like that. So I’m a bit pissed. But I haven’t given up on this yet.
