Ok here it be. I also remember to remove the mic hump from western electric recordings. This have AI or noise reduction just a glorious transfer.

Gonna use my cosmos and REW software to measure 78rpm test signals and build corrective filters for my playback chain.
I recently got a thank you letter from a guy who mapped the impulse response of his ears and had completely forgot I figured out how to to that.

I realize since I got the tone arm wires exposed I can connect it to the ADC as a balanced circuit.
Holy noise floor batman! Common mode rejection works like a MFer and cartridge not humming and doing weird shit.
- The impossibly low noise floor gets the algo working more gooder.
- I concentrate on temporal resolution to optimize sensing of noise so change ADC to min phase so initial impulses stronger
- I add back some shaped white noise masking
- I interpolate interharmonic frequency noise using RX spectrum patch a little so it sound less nubby. A better frequency exciter would yield better result but too lazy to find.
I get 50 plus DB off 1928 shellac rec that almost sound like musics.
That spectrum looks unexpectedly clean btw.

Yeah… still sounds kind of rubbery and weird tho…
My guess is this works but it needs a higher bit resolution data set to decide what noise is vs signal. OR these recs just don’t have enough clean signal to actually sound right when played clean and the psychoacoustic side of how our brain deals with noise of is half what makes these old recs listenable.

I think the next level of lunacy is trying to make an impulse response recording using a test sweep for my 400 dollar turntable, then running reverse deconvolution to see if I can remove its noise/vibration signature.
