Prokofiev: Fantasy on Rimsky's Scheherazade

There is a rec of Prokofiev playing an arrangement of Scheherazade (I can post the rec if need be) and since I’m a bit obsessed with Scheherazade I would like to learn it.

Anyone have the sheets?

Sorry to dissapoint you, as I don’t have the sheets, but as far as I know there aren’t any “official” sheets, as this is probably an improvised(?) fantasy. I think you might come across one that’s been notated by ear.

I played this with orchestra last year, and I’ve alwasy dreamt of making a piano trancription out of it. Just never knew how one would bring out all the diffirent instruments at the recitativo-like parts effectively. Could you post the rec pozz?

And respec for the Sheherazade obsession, that’s probably one of my favourite orch works.

Lev Vinocour is playing that this summer, I could try and ask him for the score–

Who’s the pianist in this rec?

Prokofiev - I think it’s a piano roll

Pretty sure this is a piano roll, don’t believe Prok ever recorded in that quality and the piano sounds like a tin can that plays piano rolls :p.

But shit, how awesome is this? Now I HAVE to play it

Could this be something

In the rec you uploaded he basically plays the same notes, but jumps around a bit and skip some parts.

I think Alexander Ghindin also has recorded this.

Respect! That looks perfect.

Thanks

Tru, just looked it through. With some slight adjustments that one can be quite wikid
