It could be me just being fussy, but I sort of have this bias for Kapell’s even after hearing Leonskaja’s great rec. Don’t get me wrong - this blew me away, but personally, the effect doesn’t last long or make want me to revisit it as often as Kapell’s, simply because there’s a great gap in their spiritual devotion to the music.
But I have to admit one thing, Leonskaja’s 2nd and 4th movt is just god-like.
