req: Ravel Piano Trio

Can somebody give me good recordings of this trio? I only have some Italian mofos…
Thanks!

I have Richter’s recording with Kagan and Gutman in flac format that I got on bittorrent so I will upload that.

Respect!!!

Did you post the whole disc? The Franck Trio is such a great performance.

No, here is just Ravel trio - can you post Franck?

I’ll do it tomorrow right after classes.

Tru, man it’s amazing how awesome the Franck trio is. Such a wonderful piece, though obviously lacking some of the polish of Franck’s later works.

I’ll post a bootleg recording of Richter/Kagan/Gutman playing the Franck Trio in Germany, which includes an encore of the third mov. The sound is crap but the playing is a bit better overall, I’d say.

heh the Franck trio rocks, only it gets a bit tedious after playing it too many times. Strange though that there aren’t many performances of this, loads of people said to me after hearing it OH GAWD PLZ PLAY THAT AT MY FUNERAL :stuck_out_tongue:

franck would be my favourite composer if he had compsed more

Damn dude, I played the Franck Op. 1/1 myself back in the day. For Franck it’s really not all that hard, but so worthwhile. I’ll check with my buddy and see if he recorded our performance.

We played a program of some my favourite trios in my first year of School. Franck Trio, Rach Trio in g, Babadzhanian Trio. Good fun. Chamber music is so much more fulfilling than solo imo.

Never played Franck actually, is it that hard maybe?

I don’t know, the only other Franck work I’ve played is the Prelude Fugue and Variation, and that’s a transcription, so it doesn’t say much about his writing.

I spent a few days on the Prelude Chorale and Fugue, but it was a touch out of my league.

Here’s the Franck trio with all the scans of the covers and inserts: http://www.sendspace.com/file/fm0cee

Haha, it takes a lot more than a few days to get used to that pieces. I once read Richter say, “In P,C,and F, Franck doesn’t care about how your fingers are working… but you must kiss the pedal. Kiss it as if it were a woman’s foot.” :rectum: I’m going playing it for my freshman recital along with Ravel Valses Nobles et Sentimentales and Schumann Symph. Etudes (with the extra variations.)

nice. ravel + franck = love

Crap. That’s a recital I’d pay to see. What a wonderful program.

:rectum: approves

dayum, which school do u go to?

and ur only a freshman? wow…

Haha, :rectum: and Chris’ approval is a good sign. Of course the rep. choices were Richter-inspired. Depending on how my Ravel sounds in the next month or so, I might replace it with the Beethoven op.111 but hopefully not. I wish I started the pieces earlier though.

Milf: I study at the conservatory in U. of Cincinasty.

Chris, U gotta be kidding me… I have no idea of this work and he sounds so mofo I want to hear this (YOUR RECORDING)

Pls post your Rach Trio. Goddamn it, I will definitely learn it one fucking day.

and yes, Chamber Music is da bomb. I’m gonna perform all these this year. Upcoming projects are in red. Finished performances are in blue.
