I’d be happy to show you how to deal with that passage but you’d have to come to my house and pay me.
In the mean time quit whining about how hard the passage is. How can you expect to be a great concert pianist when you whine about an akward apreggio or two? If wrist rotation works for you, then go nuts and have fun. If you want to learn how to do it without wrist rotation (notice I did not say without wrist motion) I’d be happy to teach you.
If Alkan is too difficult for you perhaps you shouldn’t attempt it.
“I would certainly expect more maturity…”
…are you fucking kidding me dude?
Cry me a river. The internet is a big bad place. Get over it.
(i) Nowhere did I ‘whine’ about ‘how hard the passage is’. In fact, I find that passage quite simple indeed (notwithstanding its admitted awkwardness). I would advise you to expend some effort on reading my post before attempting to reply. Try as I might, I am unable to find anything in my post resembling a whine about ‘an akward apreggio or two’ [sic].
(ii) Even assuming that your pianistic knowledge exceeds the level of your reading comprehension, I can assure you that one of the last things I would do is to come to your house and pay you to teach me how to play the piano. But don’t worry. I have turned down offers of tutelage from many who are much more eminent, talented and knowledgeable than yourself. So you can, if you choose, take solace in the fact that you may be in good company.
(iii) The internet is indeed a big bad place. So big and bad that it is filled with more than its share of arrogant teenage pianists who are under the collective misapprehension that they and they themselves are not only the height of pianistic talent and potential, but that they can singularly outclass each and every other member of whichever forum they may consider worthy of their presence.
(iv) I harbour no aspirations to be a ‘great concert pianist’, but evidently, you do. I suggest that you would benefit greatly from developing humility and respect. If indeed you possess serious intentions to pursue a career as a performing artist, then I would advise you to buck up and find out more about just what the top tier of pianists in your age group are capable of. I think you will find that your abilities fall quite short of the standard which your attitude conveys.
nah I’m sure some kid in China has done it at 9 or 10… there’s fucking thousands of 'em.
lol the height of pianistic talent and potential that’s a good one.
top tier? I know the kids in the top tier. My friend, Alex Seredenko, just won 1st place in Hamamatsu competition. Claire Huangci from Curtis came in second, I believe.
I am fully aware of what he can do just as I am fully aware of my own capabilities as a pianist (h)
lol you think I will find my abilities fall short?
Think again, my friend, think again.
if you know those kids and how well they can play, why don’t you realize you’re way out of their league, yet act like you own their asses. grow a brain kid, you’ve just lost all you respect .
your vids might’ve been somewhat impressive for a firsttimer here, i would really not want to hear your rach concerti AT ALL if that’s your technical level.
What, the notion that you posses both (or either) of the above? Yeah, I suppose.
If you think your pianism - as evidenced in your videos which you have so proudly posted here - even approaches the standard of which you speak, then you have moved from the rivers of misapprehension to the oceans of delusion.
…
I’m with Chris; we’ve given this guy far too much attention as is. Let’s move on.
i didn’t see the liszt completely, but just being able to play the notes of 10/1 gets my respect. even if it is shitty like his, i don’t wanna touch that etude.
