Mmm not true. At least with the works I’ve played and studied - meticulous 4-bar phrases, beautifully structured and almost square to a fault.

In fact, some of the contemporaries felt that the rigidity of Scriabin’s forms was a mistake - see the famous Copland quote.

I suppose the extreme attention to clarity of form (it becomes even more pronounced by the late period after op 59) is a Taneyev influence.

That being said - accounts of Scriabin’s own playing and the best recordings by Scriabinists like Feinberg … ah fuck

I don’t think zo. The reazon why Scrib iz great iz becauze of himzelf. If Chop nevah exizted Scrib’z muzic zimply would be different, not worze.
