(Shanghai-8/3) Shocked were the audiences who attended Lang Lang’s much-awaited concert in Midori Hall in August 2. The large audience looked forward to the monstrous program that included Etude no. 4 (Mazeppa) by F. Liszt and Suicide in Airplane by L. Orstein. “Lang Lang is my hero. Hell, if my wife had an affair with him, I wouldn’t be unhappy.” Cokuro Ueno remarked. His wife was unavailable for comment.
However, as the famed pianist walked into the lime light, the audience was instead greeted with a monstrously mutilated face of Lang Lang. Instantly, a pestilent silence set over the 2000-seater hall. Then, the audience started to evacuate all at once, creating a riot in the Midori Hall.
Lang Lang, however, seemed unruffled by this greeting, and proceeded to play his program. Unfortunately, only 2 of the audience members remained to witness the awesome musicmanship of Mr. Lang Lang. One of the 2 who remained, Steven Turnbull, remarked, “Oh my f___ god! I almost wet myself.” Turnbull, then, proceeded to hyperventilate.
The other audience member, who was unidentifiable because of the enormous sunglasses he/she decided to wear, was unavailable for comment.
