True, I bought this but sorta wish I hadn’t. It’s great and all, but the Juilliard recording on Testament is the only recording I need.
Yeah, the Juilliard performance is truly legendary, but I’ll give this one a listen–thanks!

I sorta liked both actually, because they’re very individual yet sublime ensembles. The Jailyard Quartet is pure poetry together; the Takacs are so acute that one doesn’t even remember to scratch one’s ass if it was itchy in the middle of the variations.
