I’ve kept silent in this thread as well… not because I don’t have 10, but because I have 40. I can name the first 5-6 relatively securely, but from then on it’d be dice rolling essentially.

I wasn’t here 11 years ago of course, but what I can say in comparison is that since then Michelangeli, Hamelin, Fiorentino and Zimerman have dropped in rank, while Sokolov, Cziffra, Hofmann and Leschenko have risen (indeed, 11 years ago I couldn’t stand Leschenko’s playing!).
Yes I mean… really! You can also put it together in so many different ways and under different premises. I’m as interested in the artistic side of music as in that relating solely to interpretation, so in the above I also have to ask myself questions akin to whether this guy is a better rapper than that guy is a metal guitarist. They do two completely different things in music, I don’t find them directly comparable.
