As heads up my cartridge was off spec in above recording. In all the reviews they mention a huge bump around 13.6khz which I thought had something to do with cantilever vibration. I noticed this growing as I used the cart.
I studied their diagram a little and they use a shader plate assembly
From speaking with one of their engineers the assembly is modified to assure no 13khz bump in the 22K dollar model (more than 10 times my model) and there was nothing that could be done. Pass!
So I whipped out a razor and started noodling with the saddle that anchors the shader plate thinking it must be coming lose and amplifying stylus travel in a non linear fashion. The sensor is stable and accurate so figured if I noodle it perfectly even with drift, I might be able to exceed their production spec or at least get it back to newer use parameters.
And so it was so! I was able to get it back below spec they site and nearish the 20k number (treble spike anyway)
Will post the third sonata without the need for softening the treble spike and the impact that has on tonality… Stay tuned.
